Publication Options

In the Axeptio admin, no changes are deployed to your site until you publish them. This allows you to update your configurations, adjust the design, or modify legal information without immediately impacting what visitors see.

As long as your changes are not published:

  • the banner displayed on your site remains unchanged;

  • only previously published versions continue to be used.

👉 You must publish your changes after each modification.

If your banner does not reflect the current state of your configuration in the Axeptio admin, the most common reason is simply that the changes have not yet been published.

This workflow allows you to prepare updates in advance, adjust your configurations safely, and decide exactly when the changes become visible on your site.

Launching a publication

When your changes are ready to be deployed, click the yellow Publish button located at the top right of the interface. The Publication options window will open, allowing you to choose precisely what will be published.

By default, if you click Publish at the bottom of the publication window without modifying any other options, only design changes and DPO-related information will be published.

If you also want to publish changes made to your different product configurations, make sure to manually select the corresponding configurations.

Details of the “Publication options” window sections

Project settings

This section groups the global settings of your project.

  • Publish design changes

    Check this option to publish modifications made in the Color and style page: colors, fonts, graphic styles, and the appearance of Axeptio elements.

  • Publish DPO changes

    Check this option to publish the information entered in Project information > Data Protection Officer (DPO), such as the DPO’s name or the contact address displayed to users.

Axeptio product configurations

Depending on the products activated in your project, the publication window displays one or more sections named after those products. Each section lists the configurations associated with the relevant product.

You may see sections such as:

  • Cookie banners (product Brands),

  • TCF cookie banner (product Publishers),

  • Marketing consent collection (product Subs),

  • Terms, used to manage Terms & Conditions / Terms of Sale.

👉 For each product, check the configurations you want to publish.

This allows you to precisely choose which configurations are included in the publication and which are not.

Geolocation

The publication window also allows you to enable banner geolocation, in order to automatically load the most appropriate configuration based on the visitor’s location.

Geolocation can be activated:

  • for the Brands product (section Cookie banners);

  • and/or for the Publishers product (section TCF cookie banner).

👉 Check the geolocation option to enable automatic configuration selection based on the visitor’s country or geographic area.

To better understand how it works, including priority rules and use cases, refer to the dedicated article on geolocation.

Finalizing the publication

💡 Good practice: before publishing, make sure that all the configurations you want to deploy are selected—especially for projects with multiple products, languages, or geographic areas.

Once your selections are complete:

  • click Publish to make the changes effective on your site;

  • or click Integrate on your site if you want to see the available integration options.

Once the publication is launched, a confirmation message appears at the top right of the interface and remains visible throughout the publication process (usually less than 5 minutes).

After publishing, your browser may still display a previous version of the configuration due to caching.

If you do not immediately see your changes on your site:

  • clear your browser cache,

  • or open your site in private browsing mode,

  • or test with another browser.
