1 - Installing the Axeptio Plugin for WordPress

To use our plugin, you need to add it to your WordPress project.

Option 1: Download the plugin archive and place it in the /wp-plugins/ folder.

Retrieve the plugin archive here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/axeptio-sdk-integration/

Option 2: Install directly from your WordPress admin area. In the plugins section, click on "Add New" and then search for "Axeptio."

In the left menu, go to "Plugins."

In the list of plugins, find Axeptio and click on "Activate."

3 - Configure Your Project ID

In your Axeptio admin area, click on "Axeptio" to configure the widget.

You need to add your project ID (ensure it has been published beforehand).

Once added, you can choose the Cookie Version or leave the configuration via the Axeptio back office. Enable the widget, and it will appear on your website.

4 - Google Consent Mode V2

The Axeptio plugin is compatible with the Google  Consent Mode V2. To activate Consent Mode V2, follow these steps:

  • In the Axeptio back office, activate Consent Mode V2 to display Google's four consent purposes. You can customize the display. Publish the widget.
  • In your WordPress back office, activate the Consent Mode V2 option and set the default values you want to give. Generally "denied," but you have the option to choose according to your project. Confirm to save the data.

5 - Blocking Extensions

The Axeptio WordPress plugin has been developed to block filters and shortcodes that plugins might use. In general, if you are using a Google Analytics plugin for WordPress, it will inject JavaScript by adding code to your WordPress project. Our extension blocks this.

Default Configuration

We have developed a plugin database to optimally configure your plugin without needing additional settings. You can find all these values in the second item of the Axeptio plugin menu: “Extensions.”

If an Extension is Checked:

It means we know it sends personal data, and we have pre-blocked it pending user consent. You can update this configuration by clicking on “Edit.”

If an Extension is Unchecked:

Either it is unknown to our system, and you can manually configure it by clicking the edit button and then “Hook and ShortCode.” Choose to block everything or specify the hooks more precisely.
Or it does not send personal data, in which case no additional configuration is needed. Leave it unchecked as it is a functional extension.

How the Axeptio Vendors DB Works

Daily, we add new extensions to our vendors DB to better control the functionality of the extensions. Check back on the Axeptio plugin from time to time to see if there are new extensions that have been updated and are installed on your WordPress project. By clicking on “Update,” you can retrieve our latest plugin configuration recommendations.
